The Wimi app

Wimi runs on your Mac. Window lists, window history, clipboard history and settings stay on your Mac and are never sent to us.

Once a day Wimi checks for updates by downloading a release list (appcast.xml) from GitHub. GitHub receives your IP address and basic request data, as with any website visit; we receive no data from this check. You can turn the check off in Settings → General. Downloads of Wimi are served by GitHub as well. See GitHub’s privacy statement.

This website

When you open this website, the server processes your IP address, the requested page, and your browser’s user agent to deliver the page and keep the server secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These pages use no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies.

Launch list

If you join the launch list, we store your email address, the time you signed up and the time you confirmed. We use them only to email you about the Wimi launch and your launch discount, and occasionally about major beta releases. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

We use double opt-in: you are only added after clicking the link in the confirmation email. Unconfirmed signups are deleted automatically after 7 days. Confirmed addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or we stop sending Wimi news, whichever comes first.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to the address above. Withdrawal does not affect emails sent before it.

Emails are delivered through an email delivery provider that processes your address on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We do not sell or share the list with anyone else.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Write to the address above. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
